Support Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park

Any cruiser who has visited Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park has quickly recognized what a gem it is and how fortunate cruisers are to have such jewel to explore. The park is a fragile gem both in terms of the environment it protects and the operation of the park needed to support its environmental and educational mission.

There are many ways that cruisers can assist the park to achieve its mission on its limited budget:

Support for the Bahamas National Trust.
  • Become a member of the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park Support Fleet by making an annual donation for membership to the Bahamas National Trust.

Volunteer work.
  • Visit the Park office to see if there are any projects needing volunteers.

Personal Initiative.
  • While exploring the park, pick up trash and flotsam that is brought in on the eastern, ocean shore.
  • Fix marker cairns that may have been knocked about.
  • Stay on the marked trails to minimize human impact on the environment.
  • Do not remove anything (other than trash) from the Park - no shells or corals for souvenirs.

Direct Material Support for Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park.
  • Before leaving the mainland for the Exumas, check the Park's Wish List for items needed that you can bring along to the Park.
  • While visiting, check the Wish List to see if you can provide help by making a donation from your vessel's spares.

Small Cash Donations.

  • Make a small cash donation to the Friends of Exuma Park in the Park Office.
  • This provides a small discretionary fund to allow the Park Administrator to rapidly respond to small immediate or emergency needs for Park operations.

U.S Citizens: Donations to Tax-Exempt Bahamas Environmental Foundation.
  • The Bahamas Environmental Foundation (BEF) is a U.S. 401-c3 tax-exempt educational / charitable foundation.
  • U.S. citizens may make tax-exempt donations to the BEF.
  • Donations may specify the purpose for which the use of the funds are to be limited to.
